I began my journey in the healing arts over 25 years ago. Along the way It became apparent that many of us men were wounded, even broken, and had turned to drugs and alcohol as way of coping with our trauma; needless to say, it was a solution that eventually caused more harm. It was apparent that we are searching for community and love. It required a sensitive, loving approach, one that allows us to “be” and to discuss our feelings in a safe space, to be able to talk about it without the fear of being discarded. It required having an open mind with the hope that the heart would crack open.

In early recovery, I was diagnosed with depression. I took all the suggestions and did all the work, including therapy, medication, support groups to no avail. At 15 years of sobriety, desperate, suicidal and hopeless, I decided to to try plant medicine in hopes of getting to the “why.” I felt relief for the first time. However, it is a tricky conversation in the recovery and treatment community. The thought of losing community weighed on me heavily, and I kept it a secret. Years later, after watching men suffer with similar symptoms, I decided to train and ethically bring the world of plant medicine to men that are in need of an old, alternative approach to healing. I look forward to sharing my experience with you, exploring the healing world of possibility.
